Lagos — The entertainment and relationship coaching circles have been thrown into deep mourning following the passing of Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh, popularly known as Coach Lara. Coach Lara was the wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, the widower of the late renowned gospel singer, Kefee Obareki Don-Momoh.
The devastating news was made public through an official statement shared on her Instagram page, revealing that she passed away peacefully following a brief illness. Her death comes merely two weeks after she and her husband joyfully welcomed their first child together.
The family’s statement read in part:
”It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh. After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully.”
The family has since appealed for privacy and requested prayers from well-wishers during this exceptionally difficult period of grief. They noted that further details concerning her funeral arrangements and related family matters will be communicated in due course.
Coach Lara was widely celebrated as a family therapist, mindset coach, and trauma healing expert who used her personal life experiences to inspire and help others heal from emotional pain and heartbreak. Her marriage to Teddy Don-Momoh had previously captured public attention as a powerful story of finding love again after loss, following Teddy’s earlier tragic loss of his first wife, gospel star Kefee, who passed away in June 2014.
Condolence messages have continued to pour in across social media platforms as friends, colleagues, and admirers mourn the sudden departure of the beloved coach.
