…….. ascribes error to system glitch
The mobile telecommunication giant, MTN, has reacted to the report of cancellation of debt owed by its network subscribers.
On Saturday, report went viral that the mobile network is cancelling customer’s debt with message asking them to check their debt status with the short code *3310#.
But reacting to the report in a tweet on its official handle on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday, the network provider attributed it to a system error.
The firm explained that an unexpected glitch in its system caused the cancellation of debt owed by its network subscribers, stressing that the debt status remained unchanged.
“The tweet reads, MTN Nigeria Communication Plc can confirm glitch impacting balance enquiries. As a result, some customers may receive error messages showing their balance have been cleared. This is not the case and all balance will reflect accurate figures once the problem is resolved.”
“Our engineers are currently working to ensure this.”
