In an effort to combat criminal activities in Southern Kaduna and its environs, troops of Operation SAFE HAVEN under Operation LAFIYAN JAMA’A have achieved significant successes.
On March 2, 2025, troops conducted an intelligence-driven operation in Boto Forest, Zangon Kataf Local Government Area (LGA), Kaduna State. Engaging with criminals in the forest, the troops overpowered them with superior firepower, leading to the rescue of five kidnapped victims: Abdullahi Saleh (38), Blessed Haruna (17), Mary Nuhu (32), Charity Nuhu (35), and Abubakar Wakili (25). Three kidnappers—Abubakar Shehu (30), Mohammed Sani (20), and Adamu Mohammed (25)—were arrested. Items recovered included a fabricated revolver rifle, nine rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two machetes, two mobile phones, 32 rustled cows, and ₦521,000 suspected to be ransom proceeds. The rescued victims were reunited with their families, while one injured victim received medical attention. The suspects are in custody and providing information to aid further operations.
On March 3, 2025, troops intercepted a blue Opel Vectra at Mallagun checkpoint in Kaura LGA based on credible intelligence about arms trafficking. A search revealed a fabricated revolver rifle concealed in a passenger’s bag. The suspect, Anthony Elisha (24) from Sanga LGA, was arrested for further investigation.
