Sanwo-Olu was seen consoling Erelu Ojuolape Ojora, the widow, in a poignant display of solidarity amid the solemn Islamic rites. He also stood alongside Mrs. Toyin Saraki—daughter of the deceased and wife of former Senate President Bukola Saraki—as well as Senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Ogun State governor and son of the late patriarch. Otunba Adekunle Ojora, who passed at 93 on January 28, 2026, was a colossus in Nigeria’s corporate world, born June 13, 1932, into the Ojora and Adele royal families of Lagos. He pioneered as the first Nigerian chairman of AGIP Nigeria in 1971, steering the firm for nearly three decades, while chairing ventures in oil, shipping, real estate, and finance like NCR Nigeria and Nigerlink Industries. Honored with CON, OFR, and titles like Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife, he mentored entrepreneurs and bridged local-global commerce, earning tributes from figures like President Bola Tinubu.
The swift burial aligned with Islamic customs, as announced by the family, marking the end of an era for a patriarch whose oriki celebrated his lineage: “Omo Ojora Apasa, Omo kekeniju…”
