Media Personality Roby Ekpo Narrates Marriage Collapse

​LAGOS – Popular Nigerian media personality, Roby Ekpo, has broken his silence in a harrowing account of the collapse of his decade-long marriage, alleging that his wife remarried in the United States while he was still providing her with financial and emotional support from Nigeria.

​In a deeply emotional teaser for an upcoming episode of the Honest Bunch Podcast, a visibly distraught Ekpo broke down in tears as he recounted the moments he discovered the depth of the rift in his relationship.

​Discovery of “Private Frustrations”

​Ekpo revealed that his world crumbled after he accidentally discovered private messages authored by his wife. In the texts, she allegedly expressed profound dissatisfaction with their union, citing a lack of spiritual, financial, and sexual fulfillment.

​“I have been coping with unsatisfying sex for almost three years,” Ekpo quoted from the message, pausing as he struggled to maintain his composure. He noted that while he was back home undergoing sperm tests at age 48 to start a family, his wife—who he married in November 2015—had seemingly checked out of the marriage long ago.

​The media personality detailed the heavy financial burden he carried while his wife lived in the US. He claimed that for six years, he consistently remitted funds from his earnings in Nigeria to support her abroad.

​“I have the receipts,” Ekpo stated. “I would do a gig of ₦500,000 and send ₦200,000. I was even sending flowers; friends in the US helped me deliver them to her.”

​Despite this commitment, Ekpo alleged that the emotional distance grew wider than the physical one. He recounted a cold reunion in 2021 when he paid for her flight back to Nigeria and welcomed her with two cars at the airport, only to be met with total detachment. “I couldn’t even get a hug… I slept in the living room for two days,” he lamented.

​The most damaging allegation involves his wife’s living arrangements and subsequent actions in the United States. Ekpo claimed he was initially told she was sharing an apartment with a male flatmate—a situation he tolerated despite his discomfort. However, he later alleged that the “flatmate” was actually a romantic interest.

​The final blow came when reports surfaced in April 2026 that his wife, Mayowa, had allegedly remarried in Texas. This prompted an earlier, viral Instagram post from Ekpo where he wished her well in what he described as her “third marriage.”

​During the podcast, Ekpo repeatedly muttered, “Ten years of my life… it pains me,” as he reflected on the time and resources invested in the union.
