RCCG Founder’s Last Born,Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi,Dies in Sudden Domestic Accident

Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi, the youngest son of the late Pa Josiah Akindayomi, founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has passed away at the age of 63. The sudden and tragic death occurred on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at the RCCG Camp in Ogun State.

His death, a full 45 years after the passing of his revered father and just seven months following the demise of his elder brother, Pastor Kolade Akindayomi, has sent shockwaves through the church community and beyond.

Sources close to the late pastor revealed that there were no signs of ill health preceding his demise. Barely 24 hours before his death, Pastor Ifeoluwa had served as the chairman of a wedding ceremony, appearing robust and in good spirits.

On that fateful Sunday morning, the pastor embarked on a prayer walk and returned home to prepare for the church’s Sunday service. Tragically, he missed his step and fell headlong, striking his head on a sharp object inside his house. He sustained a severe injury, lost consciousness, and passed away before he could be rushed to medical care.

Pastor Ifeoluwa Akindayomi was the Assistant Provincial Pastor of Ogun Province 5 of RCCG and also ran a flourishing printing press business. Despite his family—his wife and children—relocating abroad, leaving him alone in Nigeria, he had chosen to remain to oversee his business and ministry commitments.

Friends and family disclosed that the late pastor had recently secured permanent residency in Canada and was preparing to reunite with his family abroad, a reunion that death regrettably denied.

Those who knew him recall a humble, gentle man who shunned the limelight despite his prominent lineage. Pastor Debo Akinyemi, a childhood friend and fellow clergy, described him as someone who lived quietly, never seeking personal glory but instead focusing on his devotion to God and community.

His legacy as a devoted pastor, business owner, and devoted family man will be deeply missed. The church community continues to mourn the loss of this quiet pillar whose life was marked by service and humility.
