In a dramatic security crackdown, the Anambra State Police Command has arrested four suspects accused of orchestrating a campaign of terror involving threats of kidnapping, abduction, and cyberstalking against innocent residents in Ihiala.

The suspects, all residents of Okohia in Ihiala Local Government Area, were busted by security operatives following an intelligence-led operation that exposed their sinister activities.
The arrest, which took place at about 2:53 p.m. on Thursday, marked a major breakthrough in the fight against rising criminal threats in the area.
Spokesperson for the Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest in a statement released on Friday in Onitsha.
He revealed that the suspects had been operating anonymously, using mobile phones and SIM cards to issue chilling threats and sow panic among the public.
“These criminal actions not only endangered public safety but also sought to undermine the security framework we have worked hard to strengthen in Anambra,” Ikenga stated.
He praised the resilience and vigilance of the Ihiala community, whose cooperation helped in identifying and rooting out the faceless culprits.
Recovered from the suspects were mobile phones and SIM cards used in delivering their menacing messages.
During interrogation, all four reportedly confessed to the crimes, and are currently in custody as the investigation deepens.
Ikenga assured the public that the Command remains unrelenting in its mission to stamp out fear, restore sanity, and bring all perpetrators of terror to justice.
“The era of using threats and cyber intimidation to destabilise communities is over. We will ensure that no one is above the law,” he declared.
