Ibadan, Oyo State – The Oyo State Government has pledged to provide immediate assistance to shop owners affected by the recent fire at the Aleshinloye Market in Ibadan. The fire, which broke out Tuesday night in the plastic traders section, resulted in significant losses for many traders.



Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, visited the scene to assess the damage. He described the incident as unfortunate and has ordered a preliminary investigation to facilitate prompt government action.
“We are thankful that no lives were lost in this inferno,” said Barrister Lawal. He assured the affected traders that the state government will act quickly to provide support before conducting a full investigation into the cause of the fire.
The Deputy Governor confirmed that the Oyo State Emergency Management Agency (OYSEMA) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) will collaborate to deliver essential relief materials to the victims. He urged market leaders to promptly submit detailed reports of the damages, including an inventory of affected shops and goods, to expedite the intervention process.
