Ibadan, Nigeria – The Oyo State Government, through its Ministry of Youth and Sports, has released the list of shortlisted nominees for the Most Impactful Young Persons Award 2025. This prestigious award, themed “Unlocking Youth Potential; Addressing Needs, Fulfilling Dreams,” aims to recognize exceptional young individuals between the ages of 18 and 40 who have demonstrated outstanding achievements in their respective fields and contributed significantly to the development of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The announcement underscores the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to prioritize youth development and empowerment, as demonstrated by the recent appointment of a youth-dominated cabinet.
Honourable Wasilat Adegoke, speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, stated that the release of the shortlist marks the penultimate stage of the award process. Nominees will now proceed to the voting stage, where the public will have the opportunity to select the winners across twenty distinct categories.
Adegoke emphasized that this year’s nominees are exceptional leaders who have exhibited the vision and strength necessary to drive meaningful change and exert considerable influence, leaving a lasting positive impact on their communities and beyond. Their innovative work and exceptional skills are not only propelling cultural progress but also demonstrating a unique ability to drive transformative change and inspire sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports will soon announce the final voting date, inviting the public to participate in recognizing these outstanding young individuals who are shaping the future of Oyo State and contributing to national development.
