Tragedy struck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway around FIDIWO bridge as five individuals lost their lives in an auto crash.
The incident involved nine persons, comprising six adult females and three adult males, with four persons sustaining injuries.
Florence Opke, spokesperson for the Ogun State Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), disclosed that the five deceased victims included three adult females and two adult males.
Opke identified the vehicles involved in the crash as MUS191HA, a red Prime bus, and AKD754BG, a gold Toyota Camry.

The crash was attributed to wrongful overtaking, speeding, and a tire burst, leading to the loss of control and veering off the road, according to Opke.
The injured victims received immediate medical attention at Victory Hospital Ogere, while the bodies of the deceased were deposited at FOS MORGUE IPARA.
CC ANTHONY UGA, Sector Commander of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command, reiterated concerns about speed violations among motorists, stressing its significant contribution to road traffic crashes (RTC) on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
He urged drivers not to treat the highway as a racecourse, especially considering the good condition of the roads. UGA urged motorists to adopt a safer driving attitude to preserve lives on the road and extended condolences to the families of the crash victims.
