Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has launched a citizen-engagement platform, ‘Ask AA’, for Nigerians to question his political record and policy plans, describing it as a step towards tearing down the walls between leaders and the people.
The Atiku Ask AA portal Nigerians question initiative is scheduled to go live at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2026 .
THE PLATFORM
The platform, announced in a statement signed by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Campaign Council, will allow Nigerians to submit questions on issues including the economy, security, technology, job creation and measures to make life more affordable.
Atiku is expected to respond personally to questions submitted through the portal, while members of his media team will also assist in providing answers.
The statement said the technology-powered platform was designed to bridge the information gap between voters and the ADC presidential candidate by making it easier for citizens to engage with him and access information about his positions and policy proposals .
“The objective of this initiative is to bring Atiku Abubakar closer to the electorate through a practical, problem-solving platform,” Shaibu said.
ATIKU’S MESSAGE
Announcing the initiative on his social media accounts, Atiku said he developed the platform because he believes that “leadership is a two-way conversation”.
“For too long, governance has felt distant—locked behind walls of bureaucracy. But our country’s greatest resource isn’t oil or land; it is our people. If we are going to build the Nigeria of our dreams, we must start by tearing down the walls between leaders and the people,” he said.
“That is why I am launching Ask AA—a direct citizen-engagement platform built for transparency, accountability and dialogue. No filters, no intermediaries”.
He said Nigerians would be free to question his economic record, examine his policy plans and offer suggestions on national development.
“Whether you want to question my economic record, discuss my policy plans for technology, security and job creation, or share your own recommendations for national progress, nothing is off the table. I want to hear your questions, your policy critiques and your best ideas,” he said.
PERSONAL ENGAGEMENT
Atiku disclosed that he would personally call selected participants who provide their contact details on the platform to hear about their experiences and the challenges affecting their daily lives.
“Beyond answering questions here, I will personally call selected citizens who leave their contact details so I can hear directly about their experiences and the issues affecting their daily lives,” he said.
THE RADIO INTERFACE
The campaign also plans to make the platform accessible through a radio interface to reach communities without internet access.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Ask AA portal represents a departure from traditional campaign communication, which often involves filtered messaging through spokespersons and media outlets.
By offering direct access to the candidate and promising personal follow-up with selected participants, Atiku is attempting to position himself as accessible and accountable.

Whether the platform delivers on its promise depends on execution. But the initiative signals that the ADC campaign is experimenting with digital tools to engage voters ahead of 2027.
