The All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Area congress appeal committee in Ondo State has announced that no appeal was filed following the conduct of its ward and local government congresses, describing the outcome as a testament to the peaceful disposition of party members in the state.
Speaking after the conclusion of the exercises, officials of the party’s appeal committee led by Hon Chiedu Eluemunoh, disclosed that the appeal register was opened immediately after the ward and LGA congresses and remained open for two days, but no petitions were received.
According to the committee, the absence of complaints reflects the orderly and peaceful manner in which the congresses were conducted across the state.
“Last week we have our ward congresses, we have our appeal committee, we waited after the congress for two days, there were no appeals arising from the conduct of that exercise.
I must thank the people of Ondo state for being good party people and showcasing exactly what we are told that it’s a peaceful state”.
The party further confirmed that delegates elected during last week’s ward congress successfully participated in the just-concluded local government congresses, where executives were chosen across the 18 local government areas of Ondo State.
The appeal committee emphasized that it deliberately waited for the stipulated period after the elections, reopening the appeal register multiple times, including on Saturday morning, but still recorded no grievances.
“27 positions were contested for in the local government election, we’re happy to say that out of this 27 positions contested in the 18 local government of Ondo state, we have now waited for two days, we have opened our appeal register on the same day the election was conducted, and up to this moment, we have not received any appeal arising from the conduct of that exercise and that also shows that Ondo state is a peaceful state because we have waited, on Saturday we are here, we opened our register, up to this morning, no appeals were registered, we are here earlier today and we are back no appeals registered”.
Party leaders expressed appreciation to members in Ondo State for what they described as exemplary conduct, saying the peaceful outcome made their assignment easier.
The committee also acknowledged the role of the state leadership, particularly the governor, whose conduct they said helped to sustain harmony within the party.
It was further revealed that some of the duly elected delegates will participate in the party’s national convention scheduled for March 27–28, 2026, in Abuja.
The party maintained that adopting consensus remains the preferred path forward, noting that the approach is supported by its constitution and will not be disrupted by the new electoral guidelines already set in motion.
“We have come to brief that we have come to the end of our own exercise, our duty in Ondo state is to hear appeals for the ward and the local government congresses and non came, we are thankful for Ondo state people for making our work easy and we are great-full for our leader in the state, the governor of the state, by his conduct it has been made peaceful like this.
