Life after a massive lottery win rarely follows a predictable script, and for Adrian Bayford, who scooped a staggering £148 million in the EuroMillions back in 2012, the rollercoaster continues. The former postman, now 54, is reportedly planning yet another significant life change: moving out of his sprawling seven-bedroom mansion and into his 80-year-old mother’s four-bedroom cottage.

Bayford’s win with his then-wife Gillian was supposed to be the start of a fairytale, but the couple divorced just 15 months later, citing the immense pressure the newfound wealth placed on their relationship. Gillian later revealed the money had created rifts within her family.
Since the split, Adrian’s personal life has been a whirlwind of engagements. The Cambridgeshire estate he once shared with Gillian became a backdrop for further heartbreak as subsequent relationships also ended. Now, living in the same property with his fourth fiancée, Tracey Biles, it seems Bayford is seeking a simpler life.
A close friend told The Sun, “He thinks he can just downsize and have a simple life and go back to how things used to be before he was mega-rich.” The plan involves relocating with Tracey to the nearby cottage Bayford originally purchased for his parents. “The house he is leaving is one he bought with his ex Gillian and where he split from his other fiancées so it’s full of bad memories for him. He loves Tracey. He loves his mum, so it makes sense for them to all move in together,” the friend added.
The £12.3m mansion on the outskirts of Cambridge, where Bayford previously attempted to create a vineyard, run an Airbnb, and host rock festivals, has reportedly been difficult to sell. Even Tracey’s parents had, at one point, moved into the expansive estate.
This latest move suggests a desire for a more grounded existence for the multi-millionaire, a stark contrast to the lavish lifestyle his lottery win initially afforded him. Whether this downsize will bring the peace and simplicity he apparently craves remains to be seen in the next chapter of Adrian Bayford’s extraordinary life.
