Nigerians have been urged to allow the lessons of Ramadan be a positive change in our way of life.
The Olu of Lisa kingdom, Oba Nojeemdeen Oladele Odugbemi stated this at a ceremony during the distribution of bags of rice to thousands of individuals in Lisa community.
Oba Odugbemi said that the just concluded 30 days Ramadan was a moment moment for people to beg for forgiveness of sins and chat a new course for societal development.
The Royal father urged all Nigerians to be united and be prayerful so that the country will continue to be one indivisible entity despite the security and economic challenges facing the nation.
He called on the government to as a matter of urgency find a lasting solution on the issue of food crisis as Nigerians are groaning in pains and hunger.
Oba Odugbemi chided the government at all levels to use the period of rainy season to re-design techniques and ways to arrest the challenges of food scarcity being experienced in the country.
The monarch advised the government to be more proactive in its policies and programmes, saying that the economic policies must have human face to ease tension.
Oba Odugbemi charged Nigerians to pray fervently and support the present administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his success at revamping the nation’s ailing economy.
He therefore called on the government to put in more economic strategies to ease the sufferings of the down trodden in the country.
Apart from the rice palliatives distributed to individuals in Lisa community, Oba Odugbemi also gave cash gifts to the elderly people and the vulnerable as well as cash empowerment to market women at Oja Oba Irewolede market in Lisa to boost their trading activities.
The distribution of the bags of rice were also extended to some organisations in and security and health personnel in Lisa community.
