Lemo Lauds Peaceful Ogun APC Congress, Affirms 2027 Ambition

ABEOKUTA – Frontline governorship aspirant and former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Pastor Tunde Lemo, has expressed strong satisfaction with the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) delegates congress in Ogun State.

​The congress, held on Tuesday at the June 12 Cultural Centre in Kuto, Abeokuta, saw the emergence of new state executives. Lemo, who is eyeing the Governor’s office in 2027, described the exercise as a “democracy at work” and a testament to the party’s internal cohesion.

​Speaking with journalists following the affirmation of the party leadership, Lemo noted that the lack of rancor during the process was a clear endorsement of the outgoing executives’ performance.

​”For us, this is democracy at work,” Lemo stated. “The All Progressives Congress, as the largest party in Nigeria, is one big family. There was no rancor. There was affirmation because they all did well. You can see the joy on the face of everybody, which clearly confirmed that the Sanusi-led executives performed and deserve another term.”

​The congress was monitored by officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Lemo highlighted their presence as a validation of the party’s unity, which he believes will be the catalyst for victory in the 2027 general elections. He specifically credited the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for providing a stable national environment for the party to thrive.

​Addressing his own political trajectory, the “banker turned politician” reaffirmed his commitment to the 2027 governorship race. He urged party members to prioritize harmony over personal friction to ensure the APC remains the dominant force in the Gateway State.

​”We should be one big family,” Lemo advised. “The mandate will go to only one person, and all of us will rally round whoever deservedly gets it. As one united team, the APC will achieve a resounding victory in this state come 2027.”

​Lemo expressed full confidence in the APC’s national and state leadership to conduct transparent and fair primaries when the time comes, calling on all stakeholders to support eventual winners to maintain the party’s winning streak.
