LAGOS — The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has launched a formal investigation into allegations that certain lecturers failed to upload student results, triggering academic setbacks and delayed graduations.
The inquiry follows public outcry on social media platforms, including claims that over a hundred students missed out on the recent convocation due to unuploaded grades dating back to their 300-level studies. Reports indicate that these affected students now face the prospect of an extra academic year despite completing their coursework.
The issue gained wider traction after an online report by user @TheAjakeManger highlighted broader concerns, alleging that students across multiple year levels in the department are experiencing similar challenges alongside alleged threats from academic staff.
Management and Student Body Response
In an official statement on X, the LASU administration acknowledged the grievances, stating that university leadership is actively reviewing the matter.
Concurrently, leadership from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the Joint Campus Committee (JCC) Lagos Axis, led by Akinteye Babatunde, have engaged with university authorities. Student representatives have urged affected undergraduates to remain calm while administrative resolutions are being pursued.
