Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has taken a major step toward modernizing resident data capture, successfully piloting new Android-based enrollment devices in partnership with Identiko Integrated Solutions.
The Thursday exercise at Identiko’s premises on 16 Otunba Jobi Fele Way, CBD Alausa, Ikeja, tested the gadgets’ core functions: biometric fingerprint and facial recognition capture, real-time data entry, document scanning, and cloud synchronization. Selected LASRRA officers, including supervisors from the state’s five divisions, ran hands-on simulations to gauge usability under field-like conditions.

Training emphasized device setup, troubleshooting, sync protocols, and resident engagement tips, equipping staff for seamless operations. Feedback will drive tweaks to performance, durability, connectivity, and speed—key for handling Lagos’ teeming population.
LASRRA’s Head of Training and Field Operations, Mr. Abiodun Shabi, representing CEO Mr. Jide Agbaje, stressed the pilot’s role in real-world validation. “Participants will deploy devices in select spots, log challenges, and recommend fixes ahead of our next review,” Shabi said.
Identiko’s Project Manager, Mr. Enitan Samson, called the phase vital for reliability. The tech firm specializes in secure ID systems, cybersecurity, and enterprise IT, with this project aligning LASRRA’s devices to Nigeria’s digital ID standards via the National Identification Number (NIN) framework.

Post-pilot refinements will pave the way for statewide deployment across LASRRA centers by mid-2026, targeting faster enrollments for over 5 million residents. This builds on LASRRA’s ongoing digitization, including mobile apps and API integrations for services like healthcare access and voter verification.

The move underscores Lagos’ push for scalable tech amid rising demands for accurate resident databases.
