The accident occurred while she was attempting to cross the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) camp in Ibafo, Ogun State. According to reports, Mrs. Talabi had been eagerly preparing for her retirement, scheduled for October 22, 2025, and her comprehensive celebration of a decade of service coupled with her 60th birthday. The grand celebration was to take place at the NERDC Conference Centre, located on NERDC Road, adjacent to the Fela Shrine in Ikeja, Lagos.
