In this interview with Tope Glory, one of the foremost gospel ministers in Ogun State, Nigeria, she shared her experiences as a gospel minister preaching just one message which is JESUS

Can we meet you please

My name is Temitope Oluyemi Sowunmi, a gospel Minister of God. I am known as Tope Glory. I was born in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria to the family of Venerable Julius Olubode Dahunsi and Lady Evangelist Chritianah Dahunsi. I grew up in the African Church Mission. I attended African Church Grammar School and Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State. To the glory of God Almighty I am married to Abiodun Sowunmi, an Accountant by profession and we are blessed with wonderful children of God. I am a member of the Redeemed Christian Church of God which has added so much value to me and my ministry.

How did you become a Gospel Minister?

I am priviledged to have grown up in the African Church Mission with my parents and other people providing guidance and leadership. I was very active as a little girl in the Children Department of the African Church Mission. I later became the Choir Mistress of the Church of over 80 members. By the grace of God Almighty, I yielded to the call of the Ministry officially in 2017.

Since, I yielded fully to the gospel ministry in 2017, Jesus and Jesus only has been the the only source of my inspiration. I am overwhelmed that the inspiration gets deeper daily as I seek His face in prayer and the word of God all the time.

Have you released any album

Yes, to the Glory of God in 2017.I released an album titled ‘JESUS IS THE REASON’ . I was happy that all the tracks on the album blessed souls particularly the prayer session (track) titled “He Is Worthy”. I am happy that they are still blessing souls till this moment.

By the special grace of God I’m working on another album which is coming out soon. God is giving me the songs and it is work in progress because the concept is to have songs given directly and raw from holy Spirit not composed one this time around. When it’s done, it shall be released.

Who is your role model among the Gospel Ministers of God

For every believer, Jesus should be our role model who never fail or disappoint but humanly speaking, Minister Adeola Adenekan is my model in this Music ministry. I have followed her painstakingly and diligently. I have benefitted immensely from her inspiration. She is a blessing to this generation. This does not rule out the fact that other gospel singers minister to me as well as I follow as long as Jesus is the message.

Can you share any of the major challenges that you had faced and surmounted to encourage others coming behind

So many of them that I can’t tell it all. Because, there are many distractions on the way but I thank God for Grace to hold forth.
I will advise those coming behind to remain glued to the God of call and never to get distracted and finally not to chase shadows.

I remember in particular when I went to minister in a church and neglected the instructions of the Holy Spirit getting there because of what I met on ground. I wept bitterly for mercy of second chance to deliver the same message God wanted me to deliver for His people and to bring people that need the message to the same venue which God did. He had mercy and I delivered well to the glory of God. After the Ministration, I thank God, I was fulfilled. Even my crew members testified to the glory of God in the temple. There is nothing as beautiful and lovely as delivering the message of God to His people, Other things are secondary and ephemeral.

Have you been involved in any collaboration

Yes, so many of them. I collaborated according to the leading of he Holy spirit. This is not pride. I cannot do anything outside the holy spirit as I know the consequences. I released a single track featuring my model and mentor Minister Adeola Adenekan in August 2022 with a single titled “He is worthy” which is still blessing lives.

My expectations are great and mighty in Christ Jesus because I depend on His promises and covenant He made with me. And I know the vision is for an appointed time as I wait patiently for it, It will not tarry but will definitely come.

Yes, I’m open for invitations to preach Christ as my Only message everywhere. Once it is Jesus anywhere anytime, we are in by His brace
