FUMMSA Warns Admission Seekers Against Activities of Scammers

ABEOKUTA, OGUN STATE– The management of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA), Ogun State, has issued a stern public warning regarding unauthorized and misleading advertisements circulating on social media concerning admission into the institution for the 2025/2026 academic session.

FUMMSA unequivocally dissociates itself from the illicit activities of three individuals identified as Dr. Favour Visa Nursing, Dr. Mrs. Faith, and Dr. Mrs. Fatima.

According to a statement made available by the institution, these individuals, operating through the phone number 08142436525, are allegedly calling on prospective students to fill an entrance application form and register online for a non-existent School of Midwifery and Post Basic Midwifery programs, demanding a sum of N35,000.

“The attention of the management of the Federal University of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Abeokuta (FUMMSA), Ogun State, Nigeria, has been drawn to the unauthorized and misleading advertisements and illegal activities orchestrated by the trio of Dr. Favour Visa Nursing, Dr. Mrs Faith and Dr. Mrs Fatima, operating through phone number 08142436525 on social media,” stated the official release from FUMMSA Management.

“These, unauthorized individuals have been calling on prospective students of FUMMSA, seeking admissions into a non-existent school of Midwifery and Post Basic Midwifery programs, to fill an entrance application form and register online, with the sum of N35,000.”

The university emphasizes that these individuals are engaging in fraudulent and unwholesome activities designed to mislead, defraud, and take undue advantage of innocent Nigerian students seeking admissions.

FUMMSA strongly advises members of the public, especially prospective students, to “desist from having any dealings whatsoever with these illegal impostors.”

The institution further clarified that all legitimate admission processes for FUMMSA, which is scheduled to commence operations in 2025, will be conducted exclusively through the official processes and procedures of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

“Kindly note that no individual, group, organization, or agency have been mandated nor would be authorized to process admissions into any of our academic programs or any other official engagement whatsoever,” the statement stressed.
