A yet-to-be-identified man has been reportedly killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Tekobo Junction area of Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.
This was disclosed in a statement by the Head of Public Relations and Information of Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, Segun Orisajo, on Saturday.
Orisajo said the victim was rushed to the medical facility by some police officers after being hit by a fleeing driver but was confirmed dead by medical personnel on duty.
The statement reads partly, “The attention of the general public is hereby drawn to a case of a yet-to-be-identified man who was knocked down by a hit-and-run-driver at Tekobo Junction, opposite Ogun State International Montessori School, Idi-Aba, Abeokuta, on Friday.
“The victim was rushed to the Accident and Emergency unit of the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta by some policemen from Kemta, but shortly after, he was certified dead by medical personnel.
“The identity of the man in question was not known as there was nothing on him that could have assisted in identifying him or his relatives.”
Orisajo urged residents who may have a missing relative to contact the FMC morgue for identification.
“The general public who may have a missing relative should contact the hospital morgue for a possible identification of the deceased.”
