President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.”

The influential PremiumTimes NG had published investigative reports detailing the response of the University of Nigeria Nsukka to its inquiry on the validity of the Minister’s certificate. According to the University,
“From every available records and information from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, we are unable to confirm that Mr Geoffrey Uchechukwu Nnaji, the current Minister of Science and Technology, graduated from the University of Nigeria in July 1985, as there are no records of his completion of study in the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.’
The University admitted that the minister was admitted to the institution in 1981 but did not complete his course of study and never graduated nor got a certificate. The disclosure also put a huge question on his NYSC discharge certificate which he also tendered when he was screened for appointment as a minister.
