Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour Mourns Mother

​The political landscape in Lagos State was cast in a somber mood today following the announcement of the passing of Mrs. Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso), the mother of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate, Mr. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

​The news of the matriarch’s transition was shared by Mr. Rhodes-Vivour via his official social media channels on Monday, July 13, 2026. A statement signed by Olawale Rhodes-Vivour on behalf of the family paid a glowing tribute to the deceased, describing her as a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a grandmother who served as the epitome of love.

​”With sadness in our hearts and gratitude to God for a life well spent, we announce the call to glory of Nkechi Stella Rhodes-Vivour (née Waboso). She will be sorely missed. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace,” the family statement read.

​As tributes continue to pour in from political associates and well-wishers, Hon. Emilia Abiodun Ezeude, the ADC candidate for the House of Representatives in the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Federal Constituency, expressed her deepest sympathies to the bereaved family.
