Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu says he is refreshed and ready for the task ahead of him.
Tinubu started this on Monday shortly after he arrived the country from Paris, France after 34 days on vacation.
The former Lagos state governor had travelled out of the country after the March 18 governorship election.
The trip elicited speculation and controversy about the state of health of the president-elect.
But addressing supporters and members of his party, the All Progressive Congress at his Asokoro residence, Abuja, Tinubu asked Nigerians to ignore reports from rumour mills, adding that he is healthy and ready for the task ahead.
“I’m happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed and I’m ready for the task ahead,”
“Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.”
“Whatever they like, they speculate. I’m healthy, sound and okay.”
The president-elect said he has been consulting on setting up a strong team ahead of the May 29 inauguration.
“You don’t govern alone; you govern with people. You consult, assemble and then hit the ground running,” he stated.
Tinubu returned with his wife, Senator Oluremi; and were received by the Vice-President-Elect, Kashim Shettima; Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; amongst many other high-ranking members of the APC.
