Florida mother accused of forcing 11-year-old daughter to perform sex acts on video could face death penalty

A disturbing case out of St. Petersburg, Florida, has resulted in the arrest of a local mother accused of horrific abuse and exploitation of her 11-year-old daughter. Authorities have charged the woman with more than 40 counts, including capital sexual battery, child pornography offenses, aggravated child abuse, and sexual activities involving animals.

The investigation began when detectives with the Crimes Against Children Unit uncovered evidence that the mother forced her young daughter to perform sexual acts on video. These videos were then shared with a 38-year-old male subject under investigation for acquiring and distributing child pornography. Shockingly, some of the abuse also involved the family dog, amplifying the severity of the case.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri described the videos as “graphic” and “grotesque,” revealing that the mother had transmitted at least 14 explicit videos between March and April 2025. These recordings included her daughter performing sexual acts on the suspect, the mother herself, and the family pet. The sheriff condemned the mother’s actions as “appalling” and said the case represents one of the “most severe forms of child abuse.”

The accused woman was arrested on October 13, 2025, and promptly taken to the Pinellas County Jail. Her charges include four counts of capital sexual battery, three counts of lewd or lascivious molestation, thirteen counts each of transmission of child pornography and sexual performance by a child, three counts of sexual activities involving animals, four counts of aggravated child abuse, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device.

Sheriff Gualtieri emphasized the scale of child exploitation in the county, noting that since January alone, 84 people have been booked on child pornography charges involving around 900 videos depicting abuse of children mostly aged 5 to 12. The investigation into this latest case continues, particularly focusing on whether financial transactions or additional recipients of the videos were involved.
