The Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy has introduced a strategic initiative known as ‘Project 774 LG Connectivity’ aimed at creating a minimum of 300 direct jobs while indirectly generating more employment opportunities through increased digital access by the Federal Government.
Dr. Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, revealed this development on Monday through his official communication platform.
He highlighted that the project’s objective is to provide internet connectivity to all 774 Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Nigeria.
Tijani emphasized that the project, co-anchored by the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited and Galaxy Backbone under the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy’s supervision, aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ and the ministry’s strategic blueprint.
The initiative aims to promote inclusive development and enhance access to digital public infrastructure in government offices across Nigeria, including remote areas that were previously underserved or unserved.

He stated, “Project 774 LG Connectivity will create at least 300 direct jobs as we deploy nationwide and potentially more jobs indirectly from the increase in digital access.
It is also aligned with our Ministry’s Strategic Blueprint and is a significant step in achieving President @officialABAT’s mandate to deliver efficient public service to our citizens at the LG level.”
In October 2023, the ministry launched the Three Million Technical Talent program designed to build Nigeria’s technical talent pool to drive the digital economy and position the country as a net talent exporter.
The program aimed to cultivate a pipeline of technical talent in line with President Bola Tinubu’s vision of creating two million digital jobs by 2025.
The first phase of the program, to be implemented in collaboration with the National Information Technology Development Agency, involves various stakeholders such as fellows, training providers, partners, and placement organizations.
