EFCC Returns N108m to Lagos Company After Internal Fraud Probe

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has returned N108 million recovered from an alleged fraud involving two former employees of Greenwich Planet Sun King Nigeria Limited in Lagos, in a move that underscores the Commission’s commitment to asset recovery and corporate justice.

The funds were handed over in bank drafts by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 of the Commission on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, after investigators traced a series of allegedly fraudulent transactions linked to abuse of office, forgery, stealing and diversion of company funds.

Investigators said the suspects, identified as Nkechi Gladys Megai and Godson Eze, allegedly used their positions to forge documents and generate fake invoices in the names of legitimate vendors, enabling them to siphon funds over a prolonged period. The Commission said the total amount involved in the scheme ran into several hundreds of millions of naira.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Acting Zonal Director of the Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, ACE I Bawa Usman Kaltungo, said the EFCC would continue to pursue financial crime suspects and ensure that stolen assets are recovered and returned to their rightful owners. He added that the Commission was working to bring all those linked to the case to justice, including suspects believed to have left the country.

The company’s legal representatives, who received the drafts, commended the Commission for its professionalism and diligence, saying the recovered sum would help mitigate the losses already suffered by the firm.
