… Labour Party calls for cancelation of results
An agent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye on Monday caused a stir at the national collation centre when he fiercely insisted that the INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu must not accept the results of Ekiti, alleging that there were incidents of over voting and electoral irregularities.
Melaye demanded that the presentation of results by state collation officers for the presidential election (SCOPs) did not in any way translate to the declaration of results by INEC.
The former senator later lead some party agents out of the collation centre.
“We will not allow a continuation of failure, we must do the right thing,” Melaye insisted.
At the resumption of the collation,some party agents including Accord, APC, NRM dissociated themselves from the walkout.
Meanwhile, the labour party has called for the cancellation of the presidential election, alleging criminal collusion between the security agencies and the ruling party as well as attacks on opposition parties.
In a press conference on Monday, Spokesperson of the ObiDatti presidential campaign council, Akin Oshotokun said the LP has lost confidence in the electoral umpire despite the earlier promise by president Muhammadu Buhari and INEC of a free fair poll.
