At approximately 18:21 hours on June 10, 2025, a distress call alerted authorities to a violent altercation involving several boys near TFC, St. Nicholas, Lagos Island. The Lagos Neighborhood Safety Corps (LNSC) Lion Building Squad, working closely with the Lion Building Police Division, promptly responded to the scene.
The joint operation led to the arrest of eight suspects, who were immediately taken into custody at the Lion Building Police Station for further investigation. During the arrest, officers confiscated several hazardous items, including a cutlass, bottles, charms, and stolen bags, raising concerns about the severity of the incident.
Interrogations revealed that some of the suspects were linked to cult activities, a growing security challenge in Lagos Island and other parts of Lagos State. Following initial questioning, one adult and three teenagers were transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for more in-depth processing. They were escorted by both a police officer and an LNSC officer to ensure proper handling.
The Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps continues to collaborate with local police divisions to curb youth violence and cult-related crimes in the state. Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities promptly.
