ValidViewNetwork can report that crisis is brewing in the All Progressives Congress (APC) over the composition of its 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, as protests over alleged marginalisation spread from members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to support groups that worked for President Bola Tinubu’s election in 2023.
ValidViewNetwork understands that the discontent has been growing as various factions within the party jostle for positions and influence ahead of the 2027 elections.
Support Groups Express Discontent
ValidViewNetwork has learned that support groups that were instrumental in Tinubu’s 2023 victory have expressed concern over their perceived exclusion from the campaign council.
The protests add to the mounting challenges facing the party as it seeks to maintain unity ahead of the next electoral cycle.
ADC, CISLAC Raise Alarm
ValidViewNetwork can confirm that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC) have also raised the alarm over an alleged threat to evict residents of Kuje Area Council in the Federal Capital Territory who fail to vote for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
ValidViewNetwork will continue to monitor political developments as the 2027 elections approach.
