The Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL) has emphasized that the implementation of the Oronsaye Report holds the potential to cleanse the Civil Service and streamline government operations.
With President’s directive on the report’s implementation, assessments have highlighted its significant financial benefits, estimating potential savings of over N241 billion for the Federal Government of Nigeria.
In an interview CACOL’s Executive Director, Debo Adeniran, underscored that executing the report would revamp the civil service and expose corrupt individuals within Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).

Adeniran emphasized the need to address financial offenses and fraud within the civil service, urging scrutiny even for individuals previously pardoned.
He emphasized the importance of holding accountable those with queries and traces of dishonesty in their records, advocating for their removal to create space for honest individuals awaiting opportunities.
Highlighting the report’s focus on governance cost reduction, lawyer Alabi Ayokunmi emphasized that while it may address financial aspects, it may not entirely solve corruption, incompetence, or wasteful spending.
He noted that the report’s implementation might not necessarily reduce the number of aides utilized by key legislative officers.
