Police Officer — fired for having sex in front of his kids found dead in park in suicide

Brian DiBiasi, a 40-year-old veteran New Jersey police officer, tragically took his own life earlier this week, nearly nine months after being arrested in February 2025 for sharing explicit videos and photos of himself and his wife engaged in sexual acts in the presence of their young children. DiBiasi, a 21-year officer with the Hamilton Police Department, was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lower Park, Hopewell Township, shortly before 1 a.m. on Tuesday. His wife, Elizabeth DiBiasi, a Mercer County Sheriff’s Officer with 18 years of service, also lost her job following their arrests and faces related charges.

The couple’s arrest followed allegations that DiBiasi shared 36 files, including nude photos and videos of his wife, with their two young sons allegedly nearby. Chat logs suggested he discussed the children being present during these acts. DiBiasi was charged with multiple offenses including possession, distribution, and intent to distribute child sexual abuse material as well as engaging in sexual conduct that could debauch a child’s morals. Prosecutors also highlighted his involvement in an online fetish group, noting he used artificial intelligence to generate some of the disturbing images shared.

Elizabeth DiBiasi’s attorney expressed shock at Brian’s death, stating she was unaware of her husband’s “incest fetish and actions” and is hopeful that charges against her will be dropped. The couple was suspended and then dismissed from their positions after the explosive allegations came to light. The case, which stirred significant concern given the officers’ roles in law enforcement, remains under investigation, with DiBiasi never formally indicted before his death.
