MAKURDI, BENUE STATE

Benue State Deputy Governor Samuel Ode has expressed confidence that the state will deliver one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election, attributing the projection to growing public support for the administration’s development initiatives.

ValidViewNetwork reports that Ode made the declaration while addressing stakeholders, where he praised ongoing collaboration between the Benue State Government and the Federal Government under President Tinubu.

The deputy governor said visible infrastructure projects and other interventions by the Federal Government have strengthened the confidence of residents in the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Federal Projects Driving Support

According to Ode, the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia has maintained a productive relationship with the Federal Government, resulting in developmental projects across critical sectors.

He argued that improvements in infrastructure and governance have positioned the APC to record an impressive electoral performance in Benue during the next general election.

“We are confident that Benue will deliver one million votes for President Bola Tinubu in 2027 because our people have seen tangible evidence of the Federal Government’s commitment to the development of our state,” he said.

ValidViewNetwork reports that the deputy governor cited ongoing federal interventions, including road construction, security efforts, and other developmental programmes, as factors strengthening support for the President.

Growing Political Mobilisation Ahead of 2027

The declaration comes as political activities gradually gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with APC leaders across several states stepping up mobilisation efforts.

The Benue deputy governor maintained that the party’s grassroots structures remain strong and capable of delivering what he described as an unprecedented electoral outcome for the President.

Political observers, however, note that the one-million-vote target remains an ambitious political projection that will ultimately depend on voter turnout, campaign dynamics, and the performance of competing political parties.

Benue’s Strategic Electoral Importance

Benue remains one of Nigeria’s politically significant North Central states, making it an important battleground in every presidential election.

The state has consistently attracted national political attention because of its sizeable voting population and strategic influence within the region.

ValidViewNetwork reports that several APC leaders from Benue have in recent months publicly pledged increased electoral support for President Tinubu, reflecting the party’s early preparations for the 2027 polls.

2027 Political Calculations Intensify

Although President Tinubu has secured the APC presidential ticket, political mobilisation across the country continues as parties strengthen their structures ahead of the general election.

The deputy governor’s latest declaration is expected to fuel further debate over Benue’s electoral influence and the APC’s strategy to consolidate support in the North Central region.
