The traditional ruler of Azumini Ndoki in Ukwa East LGA of Abia State, Eze Edward Ebere Eule, has been suspended from office by the Abia State government for alleged misconduct.
This is even as he has been ordered to immediately render account of N8 million community electricity funds allegedly deposited in a bank account.
The royal father was suspended for 30 days following some recommendations from the Board of Inquiry set up by the Abia State government to investigate alleged misconducts by some traditional rulers in Abia State.
In a press release made available, weekend, signed by Abia State commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Uzor Nwachukwu, the government said that the monarch would remain suspended from office until he complies with the recommendations of the Board of Inquiry within 30 days.
According to the commissioner, the monarch was also ordered by the Board of Inquiry to immediately revoke the dissolution of unions, associations or organizations which he allegedly carried out without due process.
It could be recalled that the traditional ruler of Ibom Isii in Arochukwu LGA, Eze Kanu Nwa Kanu was in January, 2024, removed by the State government following the recommendations of the Board of Inquiry set up by the State government to investigate petitions brought against some traditional rulers in the State.
According to the State government, Eze Kanu Nwa Kanu was involved in alleged misconduct.
