Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has charged his newly sworn-in political appointees to serve as robust grassroots ambassadors of his administration, mandating them to bridge the governance gap, monitor local development projects, and spearhead an aggressive mobilization campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.
Governor Aiyedatiwa issued the directive during high-level interactive sessions held across key venues in Akure, specifically convening Special Assistants and Senior Special Assistants at the Dr. Olusegun Mimiko Event Centre (The Dome) and the Cocoa Conference Hall within the Governor’s Office. The meetings were designed to align the administration’s grassroots machinery with its broader developmental and political objectives.

Emphasizing the importance of grassroots representation, the governor noted that the appointments were structured to deepen public participation in governance and give every community a distinct voice. While recalling their dedication during past electoral campaigns, Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the enduring loyalty of party faithful who labored for years without immediate rewards, describing their current positions as a call to genuine service.
Rigorous Project Monitoring and Direct Feedback
As part of their core responsibilities, the governor directed the aides to maintain active oversight of ongoing government initiatives within their respective local government areas. He specifically instructed them to inspect road construction projects—noting that every council area has been allotted a minimum of five to six kilometers of roads—and publicly report both commendable execution and any operational shortcomings.

“Anything you notice in your local government, report it, either negative or positive,” Aiyedatiwa stated, adding that transparent public feedback is essential for maintaining high standards of project delivery across Ondo State.
Unflinching Support for the APC Ticket
Shifting focus to national politics, Governor Aiyedatiwa rallied the appointees to mobilize massive voter turnout for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima in the upcoming 2027 general elections. Setting an ambitious benchmark, he declared that the state must deliver a minimum of one million votes to secure the party’s mandate at the federal level.
“Our party leader, our president is a flag bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and Senator Kashim Shettima is vice. We must return them. That is the only way we can retain power,” the governor asserted, assuring that all necessary logistical support and resources would be provided to hit the target.

Party Leadership Backs Performance-Driven Strategy
Reinforcing the governor’s directive, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prince Segun Omojuwa, charged the appointees to demonstrate utmost loyalty, discipline, and integrity. He urged them to anchor their duties on the administration’s “OUR EASE” governance agenda, treating it as a sacred covenant with the electorate.
The Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the party’s 2027 campaign will rely heavily on the tangible achievements of the Tinubu-led federal administration and Aiyedatiwa’s state-level reforms rather than making unverified promises. Babatunde commended the governor for institutionalizing a collaborative approach that empowers local party structures in nominating candidates for political office.
Concluding the meetings, representatives of the Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants across the state’s three senatorial districts pledged absolute loyalty to Governor Aiyedatiwa, affirming their readiness to deliver the targeted one million votes and ensure sweeping victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.
