JARUMA RUSHED TO NATIONAL HOSPITAL ABUJA AMID HEALTH CONCERNS AFTER POLICE DETENTION

Social media personality Hauwa Saidu Mohammed, popularly known as Jaruma, has been rushed to the National Hospital in Abuja over a breast-related health concern amid her prolonged detention by the police.

The health development was confirmed by a source familiar with the situation on Saturday, ValidViewNetwork reports.

THE HOSPITALISATION

According to the source, Jaruma was taken to the hospital by the Investigating Police Officer (IPO) after her condition required medical attention.

“I have just been informed that she was rushed to the National Hospital because of a breast-related health concern reportedly linked to her prolonged detention,” the source said .

The source, who visited the Federal Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), said she was informed that Jaruma was no longer at the facility because the IPO had taken her to the hospital shortly before her arrival .

“This development is deeply concerning. We need the necessary intervention to ensure her health and welfare are prioritised,” the source added.

THE BACKGROUND: VALIDVIEWNETWORK’S EARLIER REPORT

As ValidViewNetwork reported earlier, Jaruma has been in police custody since Monday over social media posts concerning an alleged disagreement involving Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, and a woman Jaruma described as one of his girlfriends.

The Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre imposed stringent administrative bail conditions on her, requiring two sureties: a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15 and a business owner with landed property within the Federal Capital Territory.

Sources alleged that the conditions were handed to her knowing she could not meet them, effectively preventing her release before the weekend.

A two-count charge sheet dated October 23, 2026, indicated that the Inspector-General of Police had initiated criminal proceedings against her under Section 24 of the Cybercrimes Act, as amended in 2024.

The allegations concern her purported use of TikTok to transmit abusive messages, false allegations and videos relating to Rayan Ghassan Kamal, identified as Seyi Tinubu’s personal assistant .

The charge sheet does not identify Seyi Tinubu as the complainant or establish that he personally ordered Jaruma’s detention.

WHY IT MATTERS

The hospitalisation of Jaruma raises serious questions about the treatment of detainees in police custody.

If her health deteriorated because of prolonged detention and the inability to meet bail conditions, it is a damning indictment of a system that is supposed to presume innocence until guilt is proven.
