Ilebaye’s Mother Breaks Silence, Rebuts Father’s “Financial Abandonment” and Drug Claims

​The family feud involving Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of Big Brother Naija All Stars, has taken a sharp turn as her mother, Ms. Lami Calista, has come forward to debunk allegations made by the reality star’s father, Emmanuel Odiniya.

​A Breakdown of Financial Support

​In a detailed conversation with LailasNews (LIB) on May 11, 2026, Ms. Calista addressed a viral voice recording in which Mr. Odiniya accused his daughter of neglecting his medical bills while “lavishing” money on friends, specifically citing a recent wedding where she sprayed cash on fellow housemate Cross Okonkwo.

​Ms. Calista described the allegations as a smear campaign born out of a failed demand for money. She claimed her ex-husband became hostile after Ilebaye refused to hand over her entire N120 million prize or a requested N50 million lump sum.

​Contrary to the father’s claims, Ms. Calista provided a breakdown of Ilebaye’s financial contributions to his welfare:

1.2023: N7 million for medical treatment in India.

2.2024: An initial N5 million, followed by an additional N3 million for further treatment.

3.Ongoing: Monthly stipends of N1 million and full sponsorship of her two younger brothers’ school fees, which reportedly run into millions of Naira.

​”I am surprised he is putting his eyes on the money of the girl,” Ms. Calista stated. “He has money. Why is he putting his eyes on the one the child has? Is he not ashamed?”

​The Drug and School Expulsion Allegations

​Addressing the most damaging claim—that Ilebaye gave drugs to her 14-year-old brother, leading to his expulsion—Ms. Calista labeled the story a complete fabrication. She clarified that the boy found an empty “pen shisha” in Ilebaye’s room and took it to school out of curiosity.​

She confirmed that the school did not expel him and that the matter was clarified at a Commissioner of Police’s office, where the boy testified. “To say drugs and giving the younger brother drugs, that alone just ‘killed’ her,” Ms. Calista said, noting that Ilebaye is currently devastated by the gravity of the false accusation.​

​The mother also dismissed claims that the reality star underwent secret cosmetic surgery. She urged the public to compare Ilebaye’s old and current photographs, insisting that the “Gen-Z Baddie” has not altered her appearance and that the father’s comments were intended solely to destroy her public image following a recent emotional video Ilebaye posted seeking help.
