The Federal Capital Territory Police Command achieved a significant victory against violent crime by arresting three suspects tied to a brutal “one-chance” robbery syndicate responsible for the death of Barrister Chigbo Princess Nwamaka Mediatrix. Acting on direct orders from Commissioner CP Miller Dantawaye, the Scorpion Squad under ACP Victor Ogbeide Godfrey used digital tracking of the victim’s phone to raid Dei-Dei, Dakwa, and Dan-Tata areas in Kubwa between January 5 and 10, 2026.
Suspect Details
The apprehended individuals include:
1.Saifullahi Yusuf, 22, from Kaduna State, residing in Dan-Tata, Dei-Dei, Abuja.
2.Ishau Yusuf, 24, his biological brother, from Kaduna State, also in Dan-Tata.
3.Minka’ilu Jibril, alias Dan-Hajia, from Kaduna State.
These brothers and their associate belong to a long-operating gang that ramps up activities during festivals, preying on unsuspecting passengers.
Incident and Recovered Items
On January 5, 2026, around 5:50 p.m., the lawyer boarded their black Volkswagen Golf 3 on Kubwa Expressway, only to face tinted windows, weapons, and ransom demands. Her resistance led to assault and ejection from the moving vehicle, causing her death, after which they stole and sold her Android phone for ₦120,000—splitting proceeds with a fugitive named Musa. Police recovered five scissors, two daggers, two knives, a restraint chain, and pliers used in their crimes.
CP Dantawaye praised the team’s efforts and urged Abuja residents to shun suspicious vehicles, calling emergency lines 08032003913 or 07057337653. Efforts continue to nab Musa and dismantle the network, with updates promised.
