Toluwani Odukoya Opens Up: Faith and Healing After Her Marriage Ended

Toluwani Odukoya, Associate Senior Pastor of The Fountain of Life Church, has candidly shared the emotional journey behind the end of her marriage and how a series of personal tragedies have deepened her faith and commitment to ministry. In a heartfelt interview released recently on her YouTube channel and other platforms, Odukoya revealed she has been separated from her husband since 2021—news that had remained largely private until now.

The separation came under circumstances beyond her control, the pastor explained, describing the dissolution of her marriage as akin to experiencing a death. For Odukoya, the last several years have carried heavy losses, including the passing of her stepmother, her father’s twin sister, and most poignantly, her father, the late Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, co-founder of The Fountain of Life Church.

“Many people do not know I’m separated. It has defined and shaped who I am today,” the 40-year-old pastor shared. “When your marriage ends, it is like a death. It was painful, but it had to happen because sometimes, no matter how great the people involved are, if God does not ordain you to be together, forcing it only leads to brokenness.”

Continuing, she highlighted the grace she found despite the heartache, saying, “My ex-husband is a great man, but the union was not meant to be. Separation does not always mean failure or that the people are bad.”

Odukoya also spoke of the deep personal and spiritual challenges she faced coming into her pastoral calling amid this turmoil. “When God’s call came, I told Him, ‘You know all the baggage I’m trying to navigate, but if You have put something within me to serve, I must respond.’ I chose to keep my eyes on Jesus,” she said.
