9 Nimbe Adedipe Library Staff Earn LRCN Certification Milestone

History was made in Ibadan yesterday, the venue of this year’s induction ceremony organized by the Librarians’ Registration Council of Nigeria (LRCN), when nine members of staff of the Nimbe Adedipe Library were formally inducted as Certified Librarians of Nigeria (CLN) after successfully passing the prescribed professional examination.

The LRCN induction represents a major milestone in the librarianship profession, as it formally recognizes librarians who have met the required academic, professional, and ethical standards. Induction by LRCN enhances professional credibility, promotes continuous professional development, and improves the quality of information service delivery in academic and research libraries nationwide. It also reinforces commitment to ethical practice and excellence in the organization and dissemination of knowledge.

In his address, the University Librarian, Prof. Abayomi Owolabi admonished the newly inducted librarians to maintain a positive mindset and to see their certification as a call to greater responsibility. They were encouraged to contribute meaningfully to the development of the University through dedication to duty, innovation in service delivery, and effective support for teaching, learning, and research.
