ValidViewNetwork has learned that the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate for Ogun State and Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has expressed deep sadness over the actor’s death.

In a condolence message to the family of the late actor, signed by the senator’s Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro on Sunday 23rd of August, 2026, Adeola described Hassan’s death as “a monumental loss to the creative and entertainment industry.”

He stressed that the actor’s death was a loss to his family, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.

“I am greatly saddened by the death of a brother who believed and worked assiduously for my cause and the cause of our people. I sympathise with his immediate family for their efforts and struggles to keep the dearly departed alive following his illness. God knows best in all circumstances,” the senator stated.

Colleagues Pay Emotional Tributes

ValidViewNetwork has gathered that Nigerian actor and filmmaker Saheed Balogun mourned the veteran actor in an Instagram post.

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. You can rest now, my brother Taiwo Hassan Ogogo. May Almighty Allah guide you through Aljannah. This is truly painful,” Balogun wrote.

Industry colleagues, fans, and political figures have continued to pour out tributes to the late actor, celebrating his immense contributions to the creative industry.

ValidViewNetwork can report that the actor’s death came days after his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, appealed for medical assistance for their father, who had been battling stage-four cancer.

On Monday, August 17, 2026, the sisters took to social media to seek medical advice and assistance for the actor.

According to Kaira, doctors had informed the family that they could no longer administer chemotherapy because of his condition. The family subsequently sought alternative treatment options, including specialised medical procedures and traditional remedies.

ValidViewNetwork had earlier reported on the family’s appeals for prayers and the privacy concerns they raised amid the public outpouring of support.

His commanding screen presence and distinctive voice made him a beloved figure across generations.
