CALIFORNIA — Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry has firmly closed the door on ever walking down the aisle, citing the high financial and emotional tolls of high-profile divorces as his primary deterrent.
During a recent appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the 57-year-old creator explained that his reluctance stems from observing peers lose substantial portions of their empires to messy legal separations. Clarifying that his stance is not rooted in a cynicism toward romance itself, Perry emphasized a desire to safeguard the multi-million-dollar entertainment empire he has meticulously built over decades.
”I’m never marrying. And it’s actually the divorce pandemic that is happening. Everybody that I know that is doing well went broke because of divorce,” Perry stated during the interview.
While his cinematic and television universes are frequently built around the complexities of weddings, domestic bliss, and family structures, Perry’s real-life priorities have shifted decisively toward legacy protection and parenthood. The producer shares an 11-year-old son, Aman, with former partner Gelila Bekele. As he enters a new decade of life, Perry noted that his focus is entirely on slowing down, embracing fatherhood, and savoring the fruits of his labor rather than pursuing traditional partnership.
