Ekwunife Disowns Infidelity Allegations Against Soludo’s Family, Issues Apology

In a significant turn of events, Senator Uche Lilian Ekwunife, deputy governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 8 Anambra State election, has formally retracted and disowned statements attributed to her alleging infidelity and misconduct involving Governor Chukwuma Soludo and his wife, Mrs. Nonye Soludo.

The controversy began when a report circulated claiming that Senator Ekwunife accused the First Lady of having children with a prominent Anambra billionaire, Chief Chris Uba. These allegations provoked a strong public rebuttal from Mrs. Soludo, who vehemently denied the claims, stressing her lifelong fidelity and chastity. In response, Mrs. Soludo issued a 72-hour ultimatum demanding a retraction and unreserved apology from Ekwunife, also threatening to pursue legal action and even challenged her to a DNA test to put the matter to rest.

Following the ultimatum, Senator Ekwunife, through a statement released by her campaign’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Tony Ezike, distanced herself from the malicious article and categorically stated that the offensive publication did not originate from her or her camp. The statement expressed regret for any distress caused by the allegations and tendered an unreserved apology to Governor Soludo, his wife, and the public. It also urged supporters to eschew verbal hostilities and focus on the election campaign issues.
