The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command, has confirmed that two suspects have been remanded by a court over separate cases of alleged defilement involving minors.
The suspects, Emeka Chidi Innocent (22) and Ayodele John (38), were arraigned on April 21, 2026, before a Magistrate Court sitting in Oke Eda, Akure.
According to the NSCDC, the arraignment followed the conclusion of preliminary investigations into the incidents, which reportedly occurred on March 3 and April 14, 2026.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SC Daniel Aidamenbor, disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday that the court ordered the remand of the suspects after finding sufficient grounds to proceed with the cases.
“Furtherance to the press release of 15th April, 2026 on the arrest of two suspects in separate cases of alleged defilement on March 3 and April 14, 2026, the Command has charged the suspects to court after concluding preliminary investigations,” the statement read.
Aidamenbor added that “after reviewing the evidence presented, the court found that a prima facie case had been established and ordered that both suspects be remanded in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.”
The NSCDC spokesman also noted that the cases have been adjourned to May 5 and May 21, 2026, respectively, for further hearing.
