Tragedy as Beauty Queen Dies After Being Crushed by Her Own Car

A heartbreaking inquest has heard how former beauty queen and university student Eleisha Skinner died after being crushed by her own vehicle while unloading belongings outside her student accommodation in Buckinghamshire.

The tragic incident, which occurred on an icy winter night, has sparked fresh concerns about safety risks associated with steep residential driveways and prompted calls for greater awareness of potential hazards.

According to evidence presented during the inquest, Eleisha Skinner was unloading items from the boot of her Audi A1 when the vehicle suddenly slid on the icy driveway and trapped her against a wall. The driveway was described as steep, with freezing conditions contributing to the tragedy.

In a desperate attempt to seek help, Eleisha Skinner called emergency services herself and told the operator, “Help me, I’ve been squished.” When asked which emergency service she required, she replied, “All of them.”

The inquest heard that Eleisha Skinner suffered a catastrophic hypoxic brain injury caused by asphyxiation after becoming trapped between the moving vehicle and a wall. Despite efforts to save her life, she was later declared brain dead, ValidViewNetwork reports.

Her mother, Clare Skinner, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and reportedly argued that the tragedy could have been prevented had proper risk assessments and safety measures been carried out at the property.

The coroner recorded a conclusion of accidental death but issued a Prevention of Future Deaths report highlighting concerns surrounding the safety of the driveway and the circumstances that contributed to the fatal incident.
