However, the visit by the 87-year-old retired General—one of Nigeria’s most influential military and political figures—is seen by analysts as a strategic consultation on pressing national security and political stability concerns.

​General Danjuma, a former Chief of Army Staff (1976–1979) and Defence Minister during the Obasanjo administration, rarely makes public appearances at the Villa unless the matters are of grave national importance.
