Islamic scholar Ahmad Abubakar Mahmud Gumi has described the late Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei as a symbol of justice whose death, he said, would inspire change across the Muslim world.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Gumi portrayed Khamenei as a leader who remained steadfast in his beliefs, saying he “stood firmly for justice” and did not retreat in the face of conflict.
He characterized the late leader’s death as occurring in the course of a struggle he framed as defending innocent civilians in Gaza and other regions.
Gumi further stated that Khamenei’s death would “fuel change in the ummah,” suggesting it could galvanize unity and renewed resolve among Muslims globally.
The cleric also issued a veiled warning to those he accused of being responsible for or complicit in the killing, saying time would reveal the consequences of their actions.
