Tinubu and Otedola Hold Private Meeting in France

Tinubu meets Otedola in Paris

President Bola Tinubu reportedly hosted businessman and investor Femi Otedola at a private dinner in Paris, France, during the President’s extended stay in Europe.

The meeting was disclosed in a social media post supplied to ValidViewNetwork, which described the gathering as a private dinner involving the President and the billionaire businessman.

ValidViewNetwork gathered that the meeting took place against the background of Tinubu’s extended European stay. The President left Nigeria on August 30 for Europe, with the Presidency describing the trip as a working vacation and annual leave. His stay subsequently extended beyond the initially announced three-week period.

Tinubu and Otedola’s relationship

The meeting adds to a series of engagements between Tinubu and prominent Nigerian business figures.Otedola has publicly interacted with Tinubu on several occasions.

In April 2026, Otedola said he spent Easter Sunday with Tinubu at the President’s Ikoyi residence alongside Aliko Dangote. He said the discussions focused on the economy and how Nigerians could benefit from the government’s reforms.

Tinubu has also publicly praised Otedola.

In November 2025, the President described Otedola as a businessman, philanthropist and chairman of Geregu Power Plc while celebrating him on his birthday. The two men have therefore maintained a public relationship involving both political and business circles.

A continuing pattern of business engagement

Tinubu has previously held meetings with major Nigerian business figures during official and private engagements. Otedola, meanwhile, remains a prominent figure in Nigeria’s business community, with interests and leadership roles across the power and financial sectors.
