Singer Timi Dakolo has formally denied allegations of indebtedness to Revolve Entertainment and its representative, Otis Ayodele Kubeyinje, widely known as “Baddest DJ Timmy.” The dispute centers on a claim that the singer owes £4,106 in expenses related to a previously proposed United Kingdom tour.
In a legal correspondence dated July 18, 2026, solicitors representing Dakolo, led by Tope Salami of Whitestone Solicitors and Consultancy, categorically refuted the claims. The legal team characterized the allegations as part of a campaign of defamation and harassment against the artist.
Contractual Obligations
According to the legal notice, the written Performance Agreement for the tour placed the financial burden for venue arrangements, technical production, and logistics—including visa costs, flights, and accommodation—squarely on Revolve Entertainment.
The lawyers asserted that these expenses were non-recoupable costs meant to be covered entirely by the promoter. They further clarified that the proposed tour did not proceed because the promoter failed to meet fundamental technical production standards, such as sound and lighting, which were identified as contractual obligations of the promoter.
Demands for Retraction
Dakolo’s legal counsel accused Kubeyinje and Revolve Entertainment of engaging in “actionable civil wrongs and criminal offences,” including cyberstalking, harassment, and defamation, specifically noting the use of derogatory language on social media platforms.
The legal team has issued a stern ultimatum to the parties involved, demanding the following actions within seven days:
- Immediate cessation of all defamatory statements and publication of false allegations.
- Removal of all content disclosing the singer’s private residential information.
- Issuance of a clear, unequivocal public retraction of all previous defamatory claims.
- A formal written public apology published across the same social media channels where the allegations originated.
The letter warns that failure to comply with these demands will result in the commencement of legal proceedings in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Dakolo’s representatives emphasized that they are prepared to pursue all available legal remedies to protect the singer’s reputation, privacy, and personal security.
