In a significant higher educational management development, former Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Prof. Bolanle Akeredolu-Ale, has assumed the prestigious role of Vice-Rector, Academic and Students Affairs at the Pan African University (PAU) in Yaoundé, Cameroon.
This was according to a statement made available by Olasunkanmi Olajide, the Acting Head, Directorate of Public Relations of FUNAAB.
“A distinguished Professor of Language and Communication, Prof. Akeredolu-Ale has an impressive academic track record. She previously served as the Dean of the College of Agricultural Management and Rural Development (COLAMRUD) and held the position of Head of the Department of Communication and General Studies from 2009 to 2013”.
The statement read further : “Additionally, she had chaired the Committee of Deans and Directors (CODAD) and served as the Editor of FUNAAB Journal of Humanities, Social Sciences, and Creative Arts.
Before assuming her new role, Prof. Akeredolu-Ale was on Leave of Absence to the Department of Mass Communication at Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye.
Her research interests encompass Educational Technologies in Teaching and Learning, Computer Assisted Teaching and Learning, and Facilitating Online Teaching, with a focus on quality assurance, leadership, management, and eLearning in Nigerian higher education systems.
Meanwhile, Pan African University, under the ownership of the African Union (AU), was conceived in 2008 as part of the implementation of the Plan of Action for the Second Decade of Education for Africa.
The university aims to support the revitalisation of higher education in Africa. Launched on December 14, 2011, by the African Union Commission, PAU stands as a flagship continental initiative, designed to exemplify excellence and enhance the attractiveness, local relevance, and global competitiveness of African higher education and research”.
She brings to the table decades of experience in teaching, research and extension services, ValidViewNetwork reports.
